Changes to my study programme
The technological advances have
improved so fast, and with tremendous advantages to the actual civilization
that now we can’t even imagine a life without, for example, the internet. These
advances in technology, besides making life easier, have allowed important science
discoveries, and I will use this truth to express how I think the study
programme of my career could be improved.
In general, I’m very satisfied with
the curriculum, workload and length of the studies. In my opinion, I think that
a person who will treat other’s diseases, putting in danger the life of hundreds,
thousands and even millions should be very prepared, so five years at the
university approximately sounds reasonable. In terms of the curriculum, my
opinion doesn’t change, I think that the subjects we have to study are on point.
But things change when I have to
talk about the faculty facilities. We can clearly see how collapsed the faculty
is, especially on these warm days when everybody wants to be outside, sitting
on the grass in the shade of the trees, but they even destroyed the “pastos”
area to build another concrete zone that is filled with maximum seven trees. The
same situation happens with the computer labs, they are always full of people
and sometimes the demand is higher than the offer.
The use of technology is another
thing I could critique, because even though we use some programs such as excel
to applicate our knowledge in calculus, I think we could expand the use of this
kind of tools to enhance definitively the comprehension of the subjects. This
could be also used as a teaching method, of course, because some people like me
needs to applicate what we learn of classes to retain the information.
